mariner 9

The First Probe

Mariner 9 was a robotic space probe that contributed greatly to the exploration of Mars and was part of the NASA Mariner program. This probe became the first space probe to orbit another planet AKA Mars. It's launch date was on May 30th 1971, making it the oldest space contribution to the Red Planet. Mariner 9 remains a derelict satellite in Mars orbit. It is expected to remain in orbit until at least 2022, after which the spacecraft is projected to enter the Martian atmosphere and either burn up or crash into the planet's surface.

ingenuity

The First Helicopter on the red planet.. :)

Ingenuity is a small robotic helicopter located on Mars since 18 February 2021. It successfully completed the first powered controlled flight using atmospheric lift on any planet besides Earth on 19 April 2021, taking off vertically, hovering and landing. It flew on Mars and was carried by NASA's rover called Perseverance that was launched in July last year and will help collect samples from the surface from locations where the rover cannot reach. The helicopter got its name because of a high school student Vaneeza Rupani of Alabama.

Pheonix

Space Probe

Phoenix is an unmanned space probe that landed on the surface of Mars on May 25, 2008 and operated until November 2, 2008. Phoenix was operational on Mars for 157 sols. Its instruments were used to assess the local habitability and to research the history of water on Mars. The lander dug, scooped, baked, sniffed and tasted the Red Planet's soil. Among early results, it verified the presence of water-ice in the Martian subsurface, which NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter first detected remotely in 2002. ... Phoenix's findings also added to the history of water on Mars.
